Vijay Top: The Summit of Achievement
In April, students from Class XI and XII of BVM Global School embarked on an adventurous Himalayan trek, with Vijay Top as their ultimate destination. This trek, part of the Himalayan Outdoor Leadership Program, was designed to foster holistic development by immersing students in the natural environment.The Juniper team organized this trek, and everything was carried out as per the itinerary.
A Journey to Remember
The expedition had 52 students which were accompanied by 5 teachers. Over the course of four days, the students trekked through the dense woods of the Himalayas, exploring the rich flora and fauna of the region. The demanding trek was made worthwhile each day as the team arrived at their campsite, where they were greeted by the awe-inspiring views of snow-capped peaks.
Learning Through Experience
The trek was more than just a test of physical endurance; it was an opportunity to develop life skills. Students learned to sleep in tents in their sleeping bags. They discovered the importance of teamwork by helping peers who faced difficulties. Additionally, they practiced adapting to the temperature changes at each campsite
Mindfulness and Social Connection
A significant aspect of the trek was mindfulness. Without the distraction of phones and gadgets, students were encouraged to connect with their surroundings and each other. This digital detox allowed them to forge new friendships and interact with the local community, enriching their social skills.
Reaching Vijay Top
The highlight of the trek was reaching Vijay Top, the summit that stood as a testament to their perseverance and teamwork. Standing at the peak, the students felt a profound sense of achievement and a deep connection with nature.
