The true delight of sportsmanship belongs in ardent pursuit. On this note, BVM Global, Perungudi is elated and proud to have conducted its 12th Annual Senior Sports Day on the 21st of July, 2023 in the grounds of D.B. Jain College, Okkiyam, Thoraipakkam. This esteemed event was further honoured by Sri. C.L. Ramakrishnan, IPS, retired Director General of Police. Principal, Mr. V.G. Suresh, Vice Principal, Ms.Sumathi Rathnam and Headmistress, Ms. Sagili Fathima heartily welcomed the Chief Guest with a bouquet and memento.
Following the agenda of the school prayer, welcome address and flag hoist, the students displayed the prestigious March Past in remarkable unison. Moments after the March Past, the Olympic Torch was held and lit by various torch bearers who have achieved in different sports. No sooner had the sports meet been declared open by the Chief Guest, than the train of events began.
First, there was a drill show by the students of grade six, followed by a rigorous display of Kalaripayattu by grade seven students. The third show was Aerobics dance by grade eight students. The display performances ended with a phenomenal show of Pyramid formations by students of class nine.
What is a sports meet if it does not host athletics! The audience witnessed a competitive and nerve wracking set of athletic events like the 100, 400, 800 and 1500 metres running race and a 4X100 relay for girls and boys, not to mention the one for the teaching staff as well. The Physical Education department also encouraged parents to take part in a variety of fun activities. This grand event ended with the prize distribution for the winners under different categories, and one such category was the prestigious ‘Overall Trophy’ which was proudly lifted by the champions of the Ganga House.
