GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical and Innovations Training) week, an initiative of CBSE commemorating Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birth anniversary, was celebrated on 22 nd December 2023 at BVM Global @ Perungudi, with great enthusiasm.
The stage was decorated with the portraits of Srinivasa Ramanujam, drawn by students of class 5 and 9. The life history of Ramanujam and interesting facts about Ramanujam and his works were narrated in an interesting way to the students.
The mesmerizing dance performance by students of class 9 who displayed Mathematical concepts of Geometry, shape making, symmetry, patterns, repetitions, sequences and variations was well appreciated.
One of the most thrilling events was the Rubik’s cube solving competition. Enthusiastic students, grade wise,showcased their problem solving skills and agility in manipulating Rubik’s cubes.
Rangoli competition with flowers/ colour powder, provided a platform for students of classes 6 to 8 to blend their understanding of Mathematics with their creative talents.
The paper presentation competition for classes 9 and 11 provided a platform for students to exchange Mathematical ideas and learn from each other.
Mr.V.G.Suresh, Principal of BVM GLOBAL PERUNGUDI, gave away the prizes to the winners of the various competitions held. The celebrations concluded with his address to the students. He emphasized the importance of Math in everyday life and encouraged the students to appreciate the subject and understand its significance in various fields.
In all, the GANIT week at BVM Global @ Perungudi was a great success as students, through this initiative by CBSE got a platform to enjoy numerals, display mathematical skills and perceive the connection of Mathematics and its concepts with real life.
