Project Day 2023 was held on 25.11.23 at BVM Global@ Perungudi Junior Campus in a very grand manner.
Project day is one of the most awaited events in the academic calendar.
The topic for this year was “Caves” and every class from KG-9 and 11, NIOS, Resource & Counselling (Brain cave) and Robotics were a part of this mega event.
BVM Global @ Perungudi believes in incorporating 21st century skills into students’ learning and it was evident in the way the event was scaled. Every class had relevant sub-topics and students were split into groups, they had done impeccable research and came up with innovative models, interactive displays, self- explanatory charts, robot models and last but not the least live action in the form of skits. The students enthusiastically worked hard and took immense pride in setting up the rooms and explaining their models and charts.
An outstanding replica of Elephanta Caves was erected at the entrance by the teachers. It proved to the most popular photo-op spot.
Students had come dressed as cave dwellers, ascetics, cave fauna and flora and explained to the guests about the various aspects of a cave.
The Chief Guest of the day was Smt. Sashikala Sriram, former Principal of Bala Vidya Mandir, Adyar. She was accompanied by the Director of Education, BVM Global of Schools Mr. R. Rajendran, Principal Mr. V.G.Suresh, Vice-Principal Ms. Sumathi Rathnam and Head Mistress MS. Sagili Fathima.
The Chief guest spoke about the Finland Education model. She appreciated the school for conducting Project Day that lays emphasis on collaborative learning, learning by doing, teamwork and drew parallels with Finland education model. She felt such initiatives focus on the application of Self Organised Learning Environment (SOLE). It is a simple design which promotes inquiry and fosters self- empowerment. She insisted on the need to focus on practical knowledge rather than theory-based learning.
Overall, the Project Day was a huge success with an impressive turnout by parents and grandparents who came in large numbers to support the students and teachers.
